In this article the trade union supported
Labour Research Department provides a
brief overview of the state of land ownership in Britain in the late 1970s. It
reveals that over half of Britain is owned by three distinct types of owners:
the public sector - 19 percent; establishment institution - 2 percent; and
aristocratic estates - 32 percent.
