A tale of two ecovillages -
Reviving the health of local communities

Jonathan Dawson
Resurgence magazine, Issue 227,
November/December 2004

Printer friendly version - 48Kb doc

Jonathan Dawson examines the development of the social economy in the ecovillages of Findhorn in Moray, Scotland and Damanhur in Piedmont, Italy.

In both examples residents have sought to create small scale businesses, retain the surplus wealth within their communities through re-investment, and limit their impact on the environment.
